Three members of the Late Chief Egbo family were severely injured
and rushed to Oleh General Hospital yesterday, Sunday 18th June,
2017 at about 3:40pm when the Oleh Community Youth Chairman in Isoko South
Council Area of Delta State led his vigilance group to cleanse and liberate the
Family Compound of Late Chief Egbo due to the allegation of Homosexuality by
one MR ENAKENO EGBO a son of Late
Chief Egbo over his marriage to a fellow man (SAME SEX MARRIAGE) in Sweden
The Hospitalized persons identified by our correspondence as Mr
Onabadi Egbo, Mr Ovie Egbo and a Security Man all of the Egbo Family sustained
various degrees of machete cuts when they attempted to stop the Vigilante Group
who were bent on burning down the Family House of Late Chief Egbo as well as Mr
Enakeno Egbo in Otibio Quarters of the Community.
We learned yesterday that some members of the community
reported to the Youth Chairman of various social media posting both on Facebook
and Instagram clearly showing Mr Enakeno Egbo getting married to a man in
Sweden. In a bid to deuce tension, the Community Chairman urged the youth to
return to their respective houses as he will carry out investigation to know
the true position of things.
The Egbo Family Head was immediately summoned to the Palace where
he confirmed that their Son is indeed married to a man and that all attempts by
the Family to stop such a taboo fell on deaf ears as he learnt of the news
himself from social media.
He equally did not object to the cleansing ceremony that was
proposed to clean the community by burning of the Family House of Late Chief
Egbo, excommunicating and exiling the said Mr Enakeno Egbo and any member of
the Family who knew and supported the sacrilege, from Oleh Community.
However, Hell was let loose when the Vigilante Group that
proceeded to the Family Compound of Egbo to Cleanse it by setting it ablaze
were accosted by Mr Onabadi Egbo, Mr Ovie Egbo and the Security Man of the Egbo
Family Compound that although the House of Mr Enakeno Egbo who is a HOMOSEXUAL
can be burnt down, that of the Late Father Chief Egbo must remain standing as
he was never a HOMOSEXUAL.

All attempts to persuade members of the Egbo Family that the
Tradition and Custom of the Oleh Community is to the effect that both the House
of the Father and the Son must be burnt down to serve as a warning, fell on
deaf ears, hence, the youth poured their anger on Mr Onabadi Egbo, Mr Ovie Egbo
and the Security Man, thus, inflicting severe cuts and injuries on them. The
Vigilante youth proceeded and burnt to ashes the Family House of Late Chief
Egbo as well as that of Mr Enakeno Egbo in Otibio Quarters of Oleh Community
A visit to the Oleh General Hospital by our correspondence
revealed that although the injured persons are stable and responding to
treatment they may all be transferred to the University Teaching Hospital
Oghara, Delta State, due to the series and serious injuries sustained during
the fracas.
All attempts to reach the mother of the Suspect Mrs Felicia Egbo
was unsuccessful as we gathered that upon the news that her son was
getting married to a Man, she flew the community.
When contacted the Oleh Divisional Police Officer pleaded for calm
and peace, promising to report the UNAFRICAN offence to the Delta State
Commissioner of Police.
He further admonished the Vigilante youth that although the
offense of SAME SEX MARRIAGE is unnigerian, unafrican and a grave one under
Nigerian Law, the Citizens should not take laws into their hands and cause more
damage to persons and properties.
When contacted by our Team the Force Police Public Relations
Officer promised to get details about the incident. He, however, failed to
respond as at press time.
The Odiologbo of Oleh in a brief remark stated that he is more
than disappointed with the fact that an illustrious son of Oleh Community will
condescend into an animal and marry a fellow man like himself. He further
stated that he shall personally ensure that Mr Enakeno Egbo never sets his foot
on Nigerian Soil all his life as his offense of disgracing Oleh Community also
disgraced Nigeria that have law that frowns against SAME SEX MARRIAGE.
Nonsense. African culture must be preserved.
