Ubeku political sons breaches burial tradition

IN  a press statement released and signed and made available to Isoko Mirror by Jefferson Ubeku, the spokesperson for the Ubeku’s family read in parts that, the general public is hereby informed that the burial date of Late High Chief Abel Kprogidi Ubeku (OFR) has not been officially announced or fixed.

The press statement which was dated 25^thApril 2014 stated that the delay is as a result of the activities of the so-called “political sons” of Abel Ubeku who have breached with impunity the tradition burial norms of discussing, fixing and agreeing without the consent and involvement of the only son (Emetomo Ubeku) comes as a shock to the family.

The only son Emetomo Ubeku, was astonished to know that his step mother and elder sister in connivance with the so-called political sons abrogated the powers which imposed burial arrangements on him with reckless impunity is not acceptable. He stressed that his patience and rights has been trampled on and taken too far and gone to court to obtain an injunction to exercise his fundamental rights as a son.

The spokesperson, Mr. Jefferson Ubeku speaking further, said “as at the time of this press release, we gathered from reliably source that the political sons of High Chief Abel Ubeku as they tagged themselves are trying everything possible to subvert justice as the family has already gone to court, we therefore thank the general public and all well wishers in these trying times that we need to address the “axes of evil” causing rift within the family, the statement said.

In attempt by Isoko Mirror to verify the controversy  surrounding the burial date of Late High Chief Abel Ubeku from the children, a call was put across to the eldest daughter, Mrs. Flora Ubeku-Odiri  and a text message to the second daughter, Mena, and the son, Emetomo.

Isoko Mirror got the following response from them; Flora: “I do not want to discuss anything about that issue.

Mena: (through a text message) “Good afternoon, just seeing your message. To my knowledge there is no controversy or discord in my family. My father is to be buried in June 14^th. If you have any issues kindly refer them to my uncle Elkanah in Araya.”  Thank you. Mena Ubeku-Popoola.

While there was no response from Emetomo.
